R:

Nephew, what’s wrong?

B:

(Answers hesitantly) Just thinking about all the deeds I can do since I’m king.

R:

I’m sure you will be the best king to ever roam these lands. Don’t stress it.

B:

(He says with head down) I just don’t feel confident, uncle.

R:

This is not the nephew I raised to doubt himself.

B:

I don’t doubt myself. I come from a gifted family that never gives up or doubts themselves. I’ll show you, uncle.

R:

(He says smiling) There’s the nephew that I speak so highly about all the time.

B:

I’ve waited all my life for this, uncle. It’s really going to happen today.

R:

Yeah it is, nephew! Yeah, it is!

B:

Uncle, can I ask you something?

R:

Yeah, what’s up, nephew?

B:

Have you ever been in love?

R:

Yes, nephew, I have. I still love her to this day, but God had different plans for us. Why do you ask?

B:

(With a sad face) Because, uncle, I’m in love with a beautiful lady and I feel the need to marry her, but it will never happen.

R:

Why won’t you? You are the king of these lands. You can have whoever!

B:

But that’s the thing, uncle. She’s not from these lands.

R:

What land is she from? The East or the West?

B:

She is from neither, uncle. She is from the South lands.

R:

(He says beating his chest) No. This cannot happen. You tell me you are in love with somebody from those filthy lands?!?!

B:

Don’t you dare speak to me in that tone about the lady that I love!

R:

I’m sorry, nephew. Tell me who she is? Who’s her family?

B:

That’s the reason I said I couldn’t marry her, uncle, but her name is Blessie, the cheetah, and her family is the

R:

(He cuts nephew off) That’s the daughter of Jake the cheetah! He is our enemy and you are in love with her?!?! How could you?!?!

B:

It just happened, uncle. When I was roaming the villages with my dad, she caught my eye and we fell in love that day I spent there.

R:

This can’t be happening. Those are our enemies! You cannot love that Zebra!

B:

Zebra? Are you serious? She is sweeter than honey. She is my beautiful Bee-yonce.

R:

You don’t understand. She will stab you in the back!

B:

How do you know? You don’t know her.

R:

But I know her family. Remember when I told you I was in love, nephew?

B:

Yeah, I remember.

R:

That was her mom that I loved. I gave her everything, but she left me for Jake. That’s why I know her type.

B:

You don’t know her. She is sweet, delicate, and marvelous.

R:

Nephew…

B:

(Cut uncle off) I don’t care. I’m asking for her paw in marriage.

R:

(in aggravated tone) You can’t make those decisions. You just became king today.

B:

I’m the king! You can’t tell me what to do!

R:

But, nephew, I have the army on stand-by for an attack tonight.

B:

What!!! Who ordered that? I did not.

R:

I ordered it. That’s why I helped you become king.

B:

You back stabbing snake! How can you do that to me?

R:

This is the best for this land.

B:

You don’t know what’s best for this land! My marriage will cause a truce between our lands.

R:

No!!! We attack now to show you are a strong king.

B:

I’m tired of losing all the creatures of our land. I just lost my dad for cry-sakes and I will not stand to lose anymore with a peaceful solution right in front of us. You’re not loyal to me, uncle. You wanna use me to get back at Jake for taking your lover, but I won’t do it. You need to understand, uncle, that I will marry Blessie and our land will be at peace for the first time. So get ready for it.

R:

Nephew, I’m telling you this is the best thing to do. This will end the war forever – a surprise attack. I tried to do it with your dad, but he never listened. He always tuned me out like I was an outsider. I’m trying to show my loyalty to you, because with an attack we will take over their lands for your ruling. Your father could have done it a long time ago, but he never had the coconuts.

B:

What do you mean? My dad was a beast in these lands! He would tear a hole in your neck if he heard you say that, you zebra!

R:

Nephew! Nephew! I didn’t mean no harm. Please forgive me for what I have said. I talked out of anger.

B:

Okay. I forgive you, but do you still have the army on stand-by?

R:

Yes, I do, at your command.

B:

Bring the gang and the creatures of the land, pronto.

R:

(Ralo yells off the rock to bring everybody forth) Come, the king has something to say!

B:

Creatures of the land I have come to a decision that I will marry Blessie the cheetah (everybody gasps). My marriage will bring a truce to this land and the war will end (everybody chants). My fellow creatures this war has caused too much trouble for our families and I’m tired of seeing cubs grow up without parents, parents having to bury their cubs, crops and our land burned and ravaged, our waters turned into blood streams. So, my fellow creatures, I tell you that a better land is on the rise starting with this marriage and us bringing the North land and the South land together.

So I will send my uncle to arrange the marriage and negotiate the truce (everybody goes wild). (Beast turns to Uncle) What do you say, uncle?

R:

Why choose me, nephew?

B:

Because I need you, uncle. You’re the key, you’re a man of war, and now it’s time for you to be a man of peace and honor.

R:

Okay, nephew. I’ll do it, if you truly believe this is the best for the land, my noble king. (He turns to the creatures) All hail Beast the King of the Wild! (everyone goes crazy)
