Job Description:
The Assistant Construction Instructor (Electrician) supports the lead instructor in delivering hands-on training in electrical skills to prepare participants for entry-level roles in the construction industry. This includes teaching from the MC3 curriculum and working on practical projects such as building a tiny house, including electrical systems, framing, drywall, and green building methods like solar installation and weatherization. The role is ideal for someone who can inspire confidence, values, and professionalism in participants who face social and employment barriers.
Responsibilities:
Instruct participants in basic electrical concepts as outlined by the MC3 curriculum
Track trainee attendance, capabilities, and skills development
Coordinate individual learning plans with staff
Teach proper tool and equipment usage and administer safety exams
Maintain and order necessary tools and materials
Assist in maintaining the training site and equipment
Participate in weekly team meetings to review curriculum and trainee engagement
Attend all required staff meetings
Supervise training-related work at authorized job sites
Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements:
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in the electrician trade
Vocational teaching credential preferred (or willingness to become certified)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Detail-oriented and thorough
Skilled in handling basic construction tools and equipment
Strong understanding of safety procedures and hazard prevention
Technologically adept and willing to learn new tools and systems

Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of standing
Ability to lift, bend, stoop, climb, reach, and lift up to 50 pounds
