Job Description:
The Recruiter provides intakes, career assessments, job readiness training, job placement, and coaching to eligible adults, seniors, youth, and dislocated workers. This role also involves cultivating and maintaining partnerships with employers in San Francisco and nearby counties (San Mateo, Alameda), conducting outreach to area businesses, and participating in local business and community networks. The Recruiter will also develop a range of services to support hiring processes in San Francisco Bay Area businesses and assist in job readiness and placement services.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct individual and group orientations, intakes, and career assessments with job-seekers, and develop Individual Employment Plans (IEPs) for each participant.
- Coordinate referrals to employers, workforce programs, training opportunities, placements, and case managers as needed.
- Provide follow-up job coaching to ensure retention in placements.
- Perform data entry and submit client information to platforms used by SC, WFC, Salesforce, GMS, CMS, etc.
- Attend monthly Career Advisor and Job Development meetings to discuss caseloads and weekly check-ins with the Supervisor.
- Provide job-readiness training individually and in groups, covering topics like resume writing and mock interviews.
- Facilitate peer support groups for program participants.
- Cultivate and establish relationships with San Francisco and Bay Area businesses to secure employment opportunities for Success Centers’ participants.
- Create, support, and/or maintain an “Employer Database” identifying key employer contacts, industries, sectors, and job seeker placements.
- Generate job leads matching the qualifications of Success Centers participants and help manage job announcements for Success Centers job boards with weekly updates.
- Partner with Career Advisors to actively engage participants in job placements.
- Act as an external liaison representing Success Centers in the business community by providing workshops, training, and other supports for businesses.
- Support Career Advisors with drop-in participants as needed.
- Maintain accurate documentation in program logs, program data systems, employer records, and client files.
- Conduct all activities in accordance with Success Centers and San Francisco Office of Economic Workforce Development performance standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree or one year of direct experience in Workforce Development preferred.
- Extensive experience with employment and job readiness training.
- Cultural competency, including sensitivity to issues related to urban youth culture, ethnicity, immigration status, homelessness, gender, gender identification, and sexual orientation.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
