Credible Messenger Life Coach (Part-Time, Non-Exempt)

Shift Type/Workday:
Part-Time

Compensation:
$28.85 – $30.00 per hour (DOE)

Job Description:
Credible Messengers are natural leaders who share similar life experiences with justice-involved youth. They have overcome personal barriers, are deeply rooted in the communities they serve, and are positioned to positively impact individuals, families, and communities. This role involves mentoring, guiding, and supporting young people through transformative, restorative, and empowering relationships and activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Build trusting relationships and maintain consistent communication with youth

  • Accompany and support youth throughout their daily and evening activities

  • Deliver individual transformative mentoring services

  • Facilitate restorative group and individual activities, independently or with staff

  • Support the development and implementation of individualized plans for youth

  • Provide life coaching and co-navigation to help youth meet their goals

  • Help youth connect with available services, resources, and opportunities

  • Document all interactions with youth using the agency’s data system

  • Collaborate with staff and leadership to continuously improve the program and facility culture

  • Attend meetings related to case conferencing, planning, transitions, and services

  • Support the re-entry and transition of youth back into the community

  • Submit detailed daily shift reports covering youth interactions and observations

  • Complete tasks as directed and perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Effective communication skills

  • Previous experience working with youth is a plus but not required

  • Must pass a background check

  • Strong ties, relationships, and knowledge of the communities being served

  • Patience, empathy, and commitment to the role

  • Ability to work effectively in a team setting

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Respect for and understanding of diverse cultures, identities, and backgrounds

  • Ability to work with economically disadvantaged individuals

  • Personal integrity, credibility, and dedication to the mission of Success Centers

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of standing

  • Ability to lift, bend, stoop, climb, and lift up to 50 pounds
