Job Title:
Credible Messenger Life Coach
Shift/Workday:
Full Time/Part Time, between 9am and 9pm
Description:
Credible Messengers are indigenous natural leaders who share similar life experiences with current justice-involved young people, have successfully overcome their own marginalization, are rooted in the communities of the youth they serve, and are poised to have a transformative impact on an individual, family, and community level.

Job Tasks:
  • Form Trusting Relationships and Consistent Lines of Communication with Youth
  • Accompany & support youth as they matriculate through their Day/Evening activities
  • Provide youth with Individual Transformative Mentoring Services
  • Facilitate restorative focused group & individualized activities (independently and in conjunction with designated staff)
  • Support and Participate in the Development of Individualized Plans for youth
  • Provide Life Coaching and Co-navigation to support the execution of the Individualized Plans
  • Support Youth to Connect and maximize the array of Services, Resources, and Opportunities provided in the facility
  • Document Interactions with Youth via designated Data Collection Process
  • Collaborate with agency leadership/staff to continuously improve & create facility culture, policy, programs and practice
  • Participate in relevant staff meetings dealing with case conferencing, planning, youth transition processes, and connections to various services, resources & opportunities for youth in care
  • Support the transition of youth back to the community
  • Complete and submit daily shift reports, including the reporting of all pertinent details of youth interactions
  • Complete tasks as directed
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • Effective Communication skills
  • Previous experience a plus, but not required
  • Must pass a background check
  • Roots, Relationships and knowledge of the communities of the youth they serve
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods standing
  • Must be able to lift, bend, stoop, climb, reach, and lift up to 50 pounds at a time
