November 5, 2024, San Francisco, CA – Success Centers is honored to be recognized as a DEWALT Grow the Trades Grant recipient for its efforts to train and prepare marginalized youth in the San Francisco Bay Area for career opportunities in the construction field.
With an estimated 500,000 open construction jobs unfilled, DEWALT’s Grow the Trades Grants aim to help close the skilled labor gap by supporting nonprofit organizations that are skilling, reskilling and upskilling tradespeople. Each year, the program awards funding and tool donations as part of a larger $30 million commitment over five years to close the skilled trades gap.
Success Centers was selected as one of 166 organizations that are providing greater accessibility and resources for trades training.
“Thank you for your generous support of our construction training program for disadvantaged youth in the San Francisco Bay Area. Your contribution helps equip young people with valuable skills and hands-on experience, opening doors to meaningful career opportunities in the construction industry. Together, we are building a brighter future for our community’s youth and empowering the next generation of skilled professionals. We deeply appreciate your partnership and commitment to making a lasting impact.”
“On behalf of everyone at Success Centers, we express our heartfelt gratitude for the generous grant awarded to our organization. Your support plays a crucial role in empowering disadvantaged youth throughout the San Francisco Bay Area as we embark on an exciting new chapter of growth and community impact. One third of our students are women, retooling themselves to go into careers in the construction trades.”
“We have recently leased warehouse space that formerly operated as a nightclub. This facility will soon be transformed into a dynamic youth hub filled with opportunities for growth, learning, and creativity. Our students are eager to roll up their sleeves and contribute to building out this space, channeling their energy, newly acquired skills, and potential into meaningful work that will shape their future.”
“With DEWALT’s support, this youth hub will include a state-of-the-art music studio, classrooms for academic and career training, a kitchen for culinary classes, and even a tiny home project to teach practical skills in sustainable living. These resources will provide a safe and inspiring environment where young people can develop new talents, pursue their passions, and build pathways to success.”
“DEWALT’s generosity ensures that our students have access to the tools, materials, and resources that they need to bring this vision to life. Your commitment to investing in the future of our youth will not only enrich their lives but also strengthen the community as a whole.”
“We are deeply appreciative of your partnership and belief in our mission. We look forward to inviting you to visit the completed space and witness firsthand the difference you have made in the lives of so many.”
