Job Description:
The Career Advisor provides intakes and career assessments, job readiness training, job placement and coaching, and related assistance to eligible adults, seniors, youth, and dislocated workers. Program sites may include working inside detention centers and alternative education facilities.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct orientations (individual and group), intakes, and career assessments with job-seekers, and develop Individual Employment Plans (IEPs) for each participant
- Coordinate referrals to employers, workforce programs, training opportunities, and other placements, as well as to case managers as needed
- Provide follow-up job coaching to ensure retention in placements
- Input and submit client data to platforms used by SC, WFC, Casebook, GMS, CMS, etc.
- Attend monthly Career Advisor meetings to discuss caseloads
- Attend weekly check-ins with the supervisor
- Attend monthly job huddles
- Provide individual and group job-readiness training (JRT) on topics such as resume writing and mock interviewing
- Facilitate peer support groups for program participants
- Maintain timely, accurate documentation in program logs and client files
- Conduct all activities in accordance with SC and OEWD performance standards
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree with one year of direct experience in workforce development (desired)
- Experience with employment and job readiness training
- Access to reliable transportation to travel to various Bay Area locations
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to access and interpret labor market information
- Effective written, verbal, and presentation skills
- Proficiency in MS Office and an understanding of client database systems
- Awareness of the special employment needs of diverse groups and ability to adapt materials and services accordingly
- Strong customer service skills
- Respect and knowledge of cultures, ethnicities, genders, sexual orientations, and age groups different from one’s own, with the ability to work effectively with all
- Flexible, self-starter, and highly detail-oriented

- Coordinate referrals to employers, workforce programs, training opportunities, and other placements, as well as to case managers as needed

Job Description:
The Job Developer will cultivate, grow, and actively maintain lasting partnerships with employers in San Francisco and nearby counties (San Mateo, Alameda). This role includes conducting outreach to area businesses, participating in local business and community networks, and developing a menu of services to support the hiring process within the San Francisco Bay Area. The Job Developer also assists with job readiness and placement services for program participants.
Responsibilities:
- Cultivate and establish relationships with San Francisco and Bay Area businesses to secure ongoing employment opportunities for Success Centers’ participants.
- Create, support, and maintain an “Employer Database” (Casebook) identifying key employer contacts, industries, sectors, and placements.
- Generate job leads that align with Success Centers participants’ qualifications, including sourcing warm leads through online job boards and other relevant sources. Actively manage job announcements for Success Centers job boards, updating them weekly.
- Partner with Career Advisors to engage participants in job placements.
- Serve as an external liaison representing Success Centers in the business community, providing workshops, training, and other supports for businesses.
- Provide follow-up job coaching to ensure retention in placements.
- Support Career Advisors with drop-in participants as needed.
- Maintain accurate documentation in program logs, program data systems, employer records, and client files.
- Conduct all activities in line with Success Centers and the City and County of San Francisco Office of Economic Workforce Development performance standards.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
