Service Technician/Janitor
Compensation:
$24.00-$25.00 per hour
Shift/Workday:
Full-Time
Description:
The Service Technician/Janitor is responsible for routine janitorial work of the facility. This may include cleaning and sanitizing offices, meeting rooms, bathrooms, kitchen and other facility areas. This position may also be called upon to assist the implementation of division (construction & facilities) program activities. He/she must have their own reliable transportation (mileage reimbursement available).
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of safety hazards and proper use of various cleaning and sanitizing solutions.
- Detail-oriented and thorough.
- Ability to perform basic repairs and operate tools or equipment used in routine maintenance.
- Ability to keep the facility clean and orderly.
- Ability to interact with staff, clients and visitors, while remaining professional, polite, and courteous.
Job Tasks:
- Specific responsibilities include:
- Performs general cleaning and janitorial duties in the common areas of assigned buildings.
- Performs minor repairs and maintenance such as replacing light fixtures or unclogging pipes.
- Assists in cleaning and sanitizing restrooms and office space.
- Ensures heating and cooling systems are operational.
- Maintains a neat and orderly janitor’s room; ensures cleaning and maintenance supplies are stocked.
- Washes windows.
- Assists in examining the facility for safety hazards; reports deficiencies to site manager or supervisor.
- Assist in the implementation of division program activities, as needed.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Effective Communication skills.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Previous experience a plus, but not required.
- Must pass a background check.
- Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods standing.
- Must be able to lift, bend, stoop, climb, reach, and lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
