Career Coaching offers case management to marginalized community members, helping assess their interests and barriers, enroll them in services and workshops, assist them with job searches, and ensure they remain employed through follow up job coaching and support. Our process begins with an orientation, where participants complete an evidence-based assessment tool that fulfills the US Department of Labor’s thirteen guidelines. Using this assessment tool, our case managers work with participants to create individual employment plans. The plans specify goals, training needs, barriers to employment, and support services needed to develop a career pathway. All participants enrolled receive comprehensive case management and advocacy services.

Participants are provided access to all supportive services offered by Success Centers and/or will be referred to other agencies to address additional needs. Clients are offered a continuum of job readiness training services to motivate them to identify and address their employment barriers and improve their basic math, reading, and computer literacy skills. Services emphasize how to develop and maintain healthy and professional working relationships, which include communication and facilitation skills, work/life balance, and managing employer expectations.

Finally, we provide warm handoffs to employers to ensure job placement. The Success Centers has developed a network of more than 300 employer partners, including Fortune 500 companies, small businesses, non-profits and government agencies. If the participant is hired, staff will maintain contact with the participant for a 3 – 12-month period, depending on need. This follow-up work ensures that the participant is successfully performing his/her job functions.

If you’re interested in Career Coaching, we have orientations every day, Monday – Thursday at 10AM through scheduled drop-in orientation settings and on an individual basis

Other Ongoing Workshops

Success Centers maintains a calendar of activities at the Career Center that include Ladies Night, Men’s Group, NA Support Group, and others. Groups provide participants a space to share stories, tips, strategies, and successes with one another, thereby reducing some of the barriers job-seekers face such as isolation, depression, and lack of a support network to help them succeed.
