The Jungle: We see Trees, Plants, Water and animals.
Butterflies. We hear bears, lions and monkeys. We feel water. There’s dirt and leaves on the floor. Rocks. It can be dangerous. It rains a lot. You gotta be aware of the big animals.

Hyper and Hyphy are sitting under the tree, playing and passing time.

Hyper
Hey Little brother I’m to have you with me. It’s a nice day to go hunt. You want to come with me?
Hyphy
Yeah sure. I can’t wait to catch a big imapala. Brother I got something to tell you.
Hyper
What’s going on!
Hyphy
I’ve been thinking about moving to the jungle.
Hyper
What you talking about?
Hyphy
Look Brother, I want to take my family out of the jungle and go to college
Hyper
Are you okay? Did you take your seeds this morning?
Hyphy
Nah. I’m serious.
Hyper
You sure it’s nothing wrong with you?
Hyphy
You’re making me furious!
Hyper
Calm down lil bro. It’s not that serious. Let’s just forget about this. Look. Look brother. You see that impala. I’ma get this one for you.
Hyphy (he feels disappointed)
Go ahead. Go ahead
(after a while, sitting at a table)
Hyphy
Damn I’m tired of the jungle. The food don’t even taste the same anymore. I bet they got better food in the city.
Hyper
There you go again! Look brother, I don’t want you to feel bad or nothing but I’m never gonna let you go to the city. You’re my little brother, and the city is too dangerous for you. I’m going out tonight. I gotta go handle some business.
(On his way to see his baby mama)
Hyper
Damn my little brother is trippin. I never heard of nobody in the jungle that wants to go to the city. There is no way I’m going to leave the jungle. I can’t leave. My cub. My family. No, No, Tommorrow. I’m going to talk to him straight up and plus I want him to be around for my son.
(Next Day, Hyphy’s on his way to the river)
Hyper
Whats’ wrong with you. Can’t even wait for me now!
Hyphy
Look brother, you been acting weird this last month. You been going out every night. You can’t even spend time with me like you used to before.
Hyper (changes the subject)
I got a job. I’m trying to get a new haircut. And also I want to buy you an extra rattle.
Hyphy (getting excited)
On of those faster rattles we been seeing on t.v. I can’t wait to make music with it.
Hyper
Yeah brother, one of those. I think we should go now. I’m tired of swimming.
Hyphy (sad)
I guess bro.
(Hyper and Hyphy on their way back to the house)
Hyphy
Look brother, we gotta talk and please listen to me. I’m tired of living in the jungle. I’m tired of these loud monkeys and bears, and it’s dangerous for me walking in the jungle by myself. I wanna help my family and I wanna go to school. The city is better then this place.
Hyper.
Stop. Stop. I’m tired of you talking about the city and all this crazy stuff.
Hyphy (mad)
What? You think I’m stupid because I wanna go to the city and make my dream come true. You’re trippin’. You’re not the same with me no more. You don’t support me no more. You know what, just leave me alone. I need some time to realize stuff.
(Hyphy runs away from his brother)
Hyphy
Damn. There’s no way I can make my brother change his mind. He’s the only one that can go with me. I already got the tickets for the airplane. I disobeyed my mom. I took rats and birds from her. Man I feel bad and now I don’t have no one to talk to.
Hyper
Hyphy? Hyphy? Hyphy where are you? Oh there you are. I’ve been looking for you for two hours. My bad for being rude to you. It’s getting late. I think (1 day Left, Back at the house)
Hyper
Hey bro you feelin’ better?
Hhphy
Yeah I’m feelin’ better. I’m feelin’ kinda tired.
Hyper
I think we should go hunt some more food
Hyphy
Yeah sure I love to go hunting.
Hyper
You see brother. We go to the city, we ain’t going to catch nothing but bullets.
Hyphy
No, no. You’re trippin. Human’s are very friendly. Actually I met one a few years ago.
Hyper
You serious brother?
Hyphy
Yeah man. And guess what, they even touched my rattle.
Hyper
Damn I can’t believe it. You ready to go out?
Hyphy
Yeah. I’m always ready. You know I’m a down ass rattlesnake.
(They start walking through the jungle, after a while hyphy breaks the silence)
Hyphy
Hey brother. Don’t get mad, Just listen to me. I really want to go to the city. I wanna go to school. And also I wanna work at the San Francisco Zoo playing my rattle and after that I want all my family to go to the city with me. Look I gotta tell you something. I stole rats and birds from mom to buy the airplane ticket and also the airplane is coming in 1 day. You ready for success bro. You ready for the good life. It’s waiting for us.
Hyper
I can’t believe what such a rattlesnake you are. How could you steal from mom. She’s been stacking rat’s and birds for years. But at the same time I’m proud of you that you want to be somebody in life. Look I got something to tell you too. Listen.
Hyphy
Yeah sure. What is it? Please tell me you changed your mind!
Hyper
Nah Lil brother. Look, I met this girl named Preciosa. I was feeling her, She was feeling me, and we started going out, and now I have a cub on the way. And that’s the reason I can’t leave the jungle. My cub. My family.
Hyphy
What bro? You serious? You got a cub coming up. I can’t believe it.
Hyper
Yeah. And plus I want you to be around for him.
Hyphy
Yeah I would like to be around for my nephew but I only got one more day. The airplane is leaving tomorrow.
Hyper
Damn. Damn I’m sorry. I’m sorry I can’t go. My son. I’m used to the jungle. We are animals. How you think they going to treat us?
Hyphy
So what you tryna say, You’re not coming?
Hyper
Nah bro, I’m sorry. But look I promise you I’m taking you to the city. So be patient.
Hyphy
(he cries for a while)
Brother this is my only opportunity. Look I want to go to college. How am I supposed to get the money next year?
Hyper.
Why you wanna go to the city? People is not going to admire you. We are animals. You understand. I think you should give the jungle another chance. I’ma support you. I’ma be here for you brother. We are family. Family first.
Hyphy
(feels abandoned)
Damn. I can’t believe this brother. I can’t do nothing but stay. I can’t go by myself. I guess the only choice I got is to stay.
Hyper
Thanks bro for listening to me. I promise next year I’ma make your dream come true. So how bout we go to the airport and we cancel the tickets and we take the rats and birds and put It back in moms safety cave.
Hyphy
I guess brother. We gotta hurry up. We only got one hour to get there.
Hyper
Oh. I think we should start walking to the airport. Look lil bro, you are only 15 and that was setting yourself up for failure.
Hyphy
Yeah, That’s kinda true, but I’m still gonna do it. It’s never too late.
Hyper
Look I want you to meet my girl. How bout after this we go to her house.
