In a living room. Beautiful is on top of a table. There is a lot pictures on the wall. Speedy is on the floor on the other side of the room where he sees and smells nasty sweaty shoes and socks.

Beautiful is looking out the bouquet to look for speedy. Everyone else is a sleep. She begins to whisper speedy name

Beautiful
(Whispering) Speedy, where are you?
Speedy
(Coming out of the corner whispering) I am right here
Beautiful
oh, I was scared that you weren’t gonna come today
Speedy
Well I’m here. So how was your day?
Beautiful
Well, I was thinking about you a lot
Speedy
Oh really, well I always think about you. But why were you scared I wasn’t going to come?
Beautiful
UHHHHH, we need to talk
Speedy
Oh no, beautiful we already had this discussion. I thought we agreed not to talk about it
Beautiful
But it’s out 1 year anniversary. I think moving to your side of the room is the right step for us
Speedy
I think the distance between us is fine
Beautiful
Taking this step and us being closer will make us more committed

(To the Audience) It makes me feel so depressed. Today is our anniversary and I feel we need to take

Speedy
No. I don’t understand why you would leave here to go down there? Up there is clean. You don’t have to be smelling nasty sweat socks, seeing all the crumbs and being stepped on by the kids. And honestly, I want to leave this dump!
Beautiful
I don’t care if it smells nasty. All I care about is being with you. I’m tired of only being able to see you at night.
Speedy
You got to trust and believe me when I say that it’s no place for a beautiful rose like you
Beautiful
And you got to believe me when I say that I’m down for you. I don’t care about the conditions down there
Speedy
It’s just so filthy and to make things worse my parents are always getting into car wrecks with each other. I want to start my own family… with you. Somewhere away from this place, but I know you won’t go that far away from you family

It makes me think; If I should stay here with you and be miserable or just drive away

Well I grew up with my parents in a tight nit bouquet. I want to have what they have with you. Even though we don’t have thorns, they went through hard times and stuck together.
Speedy
But your parents don’t like me. They don’t want you having a boyfriend like me, a toy car. Us carpooling.
Beautiful
Your sister doesn’t like me either. I think it’sreal dumb how she thinks I’m driving you away from her. It’s her fault. She’s just too fast. She’s always leaving you behind for her friends
Speedy
That’s another reason why I don’t want you going down there. I talked to her about you moving there. She got so angry that she said if I don’t leave you that she’s going to crash into me and make me ugly. And she’s going to run you over

(Shaking Head) Speedy, I got something to tell you
Speedy

Beautiful
(Breathes Hard) I heard the little girl tell her mom today that she’s gonna go buy other plastic flowers and throw me and my family away when she takes out the trash later
Speedy
She said what? No No. That can’t be true. Why would she want to throw away a beautiful rose? You must have heard it wrong. It can’t be…
Beautiful
(Raising her Voice) I did not hear her wrong. I know what I heard and if we don’t do nothing about it, I will never see you again
Speedy
I will not let anything stop us from seeing each other

Then what are we going to do?
Speedy
Look, I love you a lot. You are the only rose in this world that trusts me, the only rose who seems to truly care about me. But you can’t forget about the roses who you’ve been with since you were born. Your just going to leave them?
Beautiful
(Looks back at her family sleeping) Well, you’ve got a point there. But I love you with all my heart. I can’t just risk loosing you
Speedy
Just listen to yourself; this is your family. They care about you a lot. I’m not going to let you leave them. I just can’t because I wish I had a family like that

(Tearing Up) So then what’s going to happen?
Speedy
(Thinks for a while) What if I tell you that you can stay with your family and still be with me.
Beautiful

Speedy

I left her and went to my side of the room. When I got there, I started to get my sister mad by telling her that I will never leave beautiful no matter what. She got furious and began to crash into me; over and over again. I laid there wrecked for the rest of the day. The little girl
saw me, just as I planned and threw me away before her little brother noticed and got upset. Then she walked over the table and threw the bouquet of flowers that consisted of beautiful and her family in the trash. Beautiful fell down and landed on my hood.
