BLUE J is flying on his way to WHITE DOVE |
BLUE J
(Feeling ashamed)
I really feel I should have been faithful. It doesn’t feel right what I did to her. She has been nothing but loveable and helpful. Now I’m going to have to confess this deep secret I have. But I can’t hold it in no more.
(BLUE J meets up with WHITE DOVE)
BLUE J
Hi. How are you doing?
WHITE DOVE
I’m okay, could’ve been better. How are you?
(They hug and give each other a passionate peck)
BLUE J
I’m in an awkward mood. I’m not feelin myself.
WHITE DOVE
Why do you feel that way?
BLUE J
I don’t know I just woke up that way. I just have a lot on my mind.
WHITE DOVE
Like what?
BLUE J
There is something I have to confess to you.
WHITE DOVE
Like what?
BLUE J
You know that I love you and that nothing can come between us.
WHITE DOVE
Okay.
BLUE J
I don’t know how to put this but when you have not been around…I’ve been kinda messin around with other birds.
WHITE DOVE
What you mean kinda messin around with other birds? So you saying you’ve been cheating on me.
BLUE J
Not cheating just being unfaithful.
WHITE DOVE
What’s the difference you have not been loyal to me.
BLUE J
I have been loyal to you but I don’t get to see you on a regular bases.
WHITE DOVE
What you mean on a regular bases?! I can’t be there for you all the time. I’m trying to handle my business and go to school to be something in my life. I can’t believe you putting this on me like I’m the one to blame.
BLUE J
I’m not blaming you.
(BLUE J goes to embrace her but WHITE DOVE sidesteps)
BLUE J
Don’t reject me.
WHITE DOVE
I’m not rejecting you I’m just disappointed in you.
BLUE J
But I’m sorry.
WHITE DOVE
What is sorry going to do?
BLUE J
I’m not gonna lie. I am guilty for what I did and there’s nothing I can change about it. That’s why I am here before you find out from somebody else.
WHITE DOVE
Why did you do this? Why did you hurt me?
BLUE J
My intention was never to hurt you. I was drunk on OJ and I was not in my right frame of mind. I was not thinking of the consequences afterwards. I was caught up in the moment.
WHITE DOVE
I don’t know what to say? I’m over here trying to go to school so I can own my business so I can be the one to take care of you and live together so we can be closer.
BLUE J
We still could.
WHITE DOVE
I don’t know now because I don’t want this to interfere with my future.
BLUE J
We can still have a future together if you can give me another chance.
WHITE DOVE
How do I know if I give you another chance it won’t happen again?
BLUE J
I can show you better than I can tell.
WHITE DOVE
Baby, I really love you. I never felt this way for anyone. I’ve been so loyal to you. I’ve been there when you needed a shoulder to lean on, a bird to conversate with. Me and you have a special bond that no one can take away from me. We have been through thick and thin.
BLUE J
I feel the same way for you. You are my first love and only. I’m mad at myself for what I did. I wish I could go back and take back what I did. You make me feel ways like I never felt. When you by my side I feel like I’m the happiest bird in the world and when you’re not by my side I start to get lonely and depress cuz I don’t know what you’re doing when you’re not in school, on you your freetime. The ways I’m going to show you, one: I’m gonna stop drinking cuz that’s what got me to sleep with the other birds. Another is I’m gonna committ to this relationship.
WHITE DOVE
I’m going to have to leave in a couple of mintues. You’re genuine but I don’t think I can give you a chance cuz I don’t know if you’re gonna hurt me again.
BLUE J
Baby, please don’t leave me. I need you I need you in my life. I don’t know what I’ll do if you leave. If you leave a part of me will leave with you.
WHITE DOVE
There’s other birds out there.
BLUE J
But they will never take the place that I have for you in my heart.
WHITE DOVE
I am sorry but I have to go now.
BLUE J
(A tear falls from his eye)
Please, don’t leave me like this without me knowing if I still have your love.
WHITE DOVE
You’ll always have my love.
BLUE J
So what’s your answer?
WHITE DOVE
I’m going to have to think about this. Sorry, I have to leave.
(She pecks him on the cheek and flys away. BLUE J sits there and cries)
