Takes place in the house in the middle of the rainforest. Their house is up on one of the tallest trees.

Jewels comes storming through the door.Bella’s in the closet packing her clothes

JEWELS
Bella!
BELLA
Yes, Jewels.
JEWELS
Where are you?
BELLA
I’m right here.
JEWELS
Where?
BELLA
I’m in the closet.
JEWELS
Oh, come here I need to tell you something.
BELLA
Yes, Jewels dear, what do you need to tell me?
JEWELS
There’s this really cute squirrel dude that wants to take you out.
BELLA
Jewels, I’m tired of you trying to set me up with those lil immature stinky boy squirrels.
JEWELS
You need a boy squirrel in your life.
BELLA
Jewels, don’t tell me what I need in my life.
JEWELS
Well you haven’t gone out with anyone in months.
BELLA
What would you know?
JEWELS
Believe me, I know.
BELLA
No, no, believe me you don’t know.
JEWELS
You’re always home, you don’t go out, and you don’t have a boyfriend.
BELLA
Lil that you know I’ve been dating a giraffe for about 8 months now.
JEWELS
WHAT?
BELLA
Yeah, 8 months.
JEWELS
How could you? How, when, who is he?
BELLA
I see him almost once a day.
JEWELS
Who is he?
BELLA
You know him, Escobar.
JEWELS
Oh my, and you like him?
BELLA
I’m actually in love with him.
JEWELS
How could you, that’s nasty. We’re squirrels. Squirrels can’t go out with giraffes.
BELLA
Well I have been and I would like for you to meet him.
JEWELS
No, I don’t want to.
BELLA
Well he’s leaving tomorrow to go stay with his family across the forest and he wants me to go. And also I’m planning on getting married.
JEWELS
No you can’t go, you can’t leave me here by myself.
BELLA
Jewels, you’re old enough to take care of yourself, you’re not a little girl anymore.
JEWELS
But I need you, you can’t just run off and get married with this giraffe and leave me.
BELLA
It’s on you, Jewels. You can come.
JEWELS
You think I want to be seen walking around with a giraffe, you never know what might happen. They might eat us, kill us, who knows?
BELLA
See, that’s your problem. You’re always worried about what people think. Who cares what people think? It’s about yourself.
JEWELS
What about mom?
BELLA
What about mom, she’s never around, who cares?
JEWELS
She’s gonna come home and see you gone. What am I gonna tell her – “Oh that Bella’s gonna marry a giraffe.”
BELLA
You can tell her what ever you want. Why don’t you come with me? We’ll be able to start our lives over, you can meet new animal friends, I think it will be very good for us.
JEWELS
FOR YOU, NOT FOR ME.
BELLA
Well I’m leaving tonight in about 30 minutes. I have my clothes packed already.
JEWELS
30 minutes. You’re crazy you can’t.
BELLA
I told you, you can come.
JEWELS
I don’t want you to go.
BELLA
I need to go. I need to move on with my life.
JEWELS
Move on from me?
BELLA
No, move on with my life.
JEWELS
Well I’m a part of your life.
BELLA
Yes, I know you are, but so is Escobar.
JEWELS
Why do you want to move on with a giraffe?
BELLA
Well I really feel I’m in love. He has a great personality, he’s very sweet and kind-hearted. He makes me feel good about myself, like I’m worth something.
JEWELS
Well, I’m not worth anything to you.
BELLA
Of course. You’re my everything, but it’s just that time where I have to move on with my life.
JEWELS
So you’re gonna leave me here and go and do what?
BELLA
I want to leave and try new things in life. Experience new things, meet new animals, and just start fresh.
JEWELS
With the giraffe? That you’ve only known for 8 months? Giraffes are so ugly and big, and they like to eat squirrels like us.
BELLA
So much that you know. When is the last time you seen a giraffe eat a squirrel. That’s what all your friends tell you, but in all reality it’s a made up rumor. Giraffes don’t eat meat, they only eat plants and leaves like us.
JEWELS
I didn’t know.
BELLA
It’s okay. Just don’t let your friends convince you to think differently about things.
JEWELS
I’ll try not to.
BELLA
So what do you think? Would you want to go?
JEWELS
Naw, I’m good. I’m not ready to leave yet. I’m gonna stay here and wait for mom to come around and I’m gonna stay here and finish school.
BELLA
I feel really bad for leaving you, but I know you’ll do a great job. I have faith in you.
JEWELS
Really, do you?
BELLA
Yeah. You’re very bright, smart, and most of all, you’re brave.
JEWELS
Will you come back and visit?
BELLA
Of course I will.
JEWELS
When you come back, make sure to bring Escobar home.
BELLA
I sure will.
JEWELS
I love you and take care of yourself. I’ll miss you.
BELLA
I love you too. Stay strong over here. I know you’ll do just fine without me. See you later.
JEWELS
Have fun. See yah.
(As they both hug each other both have tears in their eyes. BELLA opens the door and leaves.)
