Setting:
Under a tree in an African jungle. In soft brown grass and by a creek. You could hear birds chirp and the soft splash of the creek hitting the water. Blaze, his mom and his friend Two-Time are scattered around the area sleeping where shade is.
Time:
It’s 6:30am on a summer day
At Rise:
Two-Time keeps throwing rocks from his laying position at Blaze playfully. Blaze sluggishly waking up.
Blaze
Stop throwing things pussy… cat.
Two-Time
Get up so we can do down to the other side of the lake.
Blaze
I don’t feel like going down that way. We was just there last night. I feel like staying in our territory. And chilling. (Blaze scratches at the ground with his claws)
Two-Time
You don’t be doing anything but playing with the dirt.
Blaze
I’m writing my ideas down.
Two-Time
Dude you been doing that for the last few days and it hasn’t gotten you nothing. I been outside all mornin yesterday and caught a whole buffalo by myself.
Blaze

Two-Time

Naw I found out yesterday that he in some place called the zoo. Where they take lions like us because they don’t like how we live and fear being around us, unless were contained, than they come watch us.
Two-Time
If I was as ugly as you I would be scared to be around myself. Now come on let’s go on cross da lake to catch up wit dem shorties from last night. You could use that mouth piece of yours to mate wit one of em cuz.
Blaze
(starting to heat up) Did you not just hear me say I found out where my pops was. You don’t never think ahead just always in the moment.
Two-Time

Blaze
I don’t know what to do. I ran in to Slay the snake yesterday and she said if I got you to get your guard down so she could get a good bite on you, than she’ll get me ma pops and cash me out.

I’ll never back door nun of ma homies so don’t get it twisted but you know how I always be talking about doing sumthin big in ma lifetime this is ma only chance. At least you had a chance to meet yours they took mines before I was even born. I know he in there stressin. They got him n a cage. His presence is misery and he can’t do nothin but live in memories and there’s nothin he could do about it. God didn’t make livin things for cages.

I was thinking about that too its probably because your colors I never seen no other lion wit ‘em. When everybody admire you there tend to be another group that hate and wanna take you out da picture or keep you from themselves.
Two-Time

I say we let em think she gon getchu than I pop out and claw ‘em up. Find out where exactly where ma pop. It’s a long shot but we grew up together I wouldn’t give upu p even if da odds was on me. We gon figure sumthin out.
