EMERALD

Hey Babe, can we talk?

CHILLFIVE

Yeah, what’s up?

EMERALD

I have some things on my mind that I need to tell you.

CHILLFIVE

Ok. What’s on your mind, Babe?

EMERALD

I think you should move in with me.

CHILLFIVE

I know that’s what I want.  But I have some issues of my own.

EMERALD

Well, I be thinking we got a son on the way ‘n I think we should get married
for the puppy.

CHILLFIVE

Babe, look, I know, but I’m not ready for all that yet.

EMERALD

Come on, Babe, we need to do this for our newborn.

CHILLFIVE

I know.  But getting married is a big commitment

EMERALD

We need to do this for the baby puppy.

CHILLFIVE

I’m down to do something for my son, but not that.

EMERALD

I know. But these are deep feelings I’m trying to suggest here.  I can’t
believe  you don’t want to marry the love of your life.  My heart is broken.

CHILLFIVE

You will always be the love of my life.  But I’m not ready to get married.
So, look Babe, it will make me irritable to be married and that means that I
will have to be with you everyday.  I have a life ahead of me and I want to
play.

EMERALD

(Shocked)  I can’t believe you said that.  It makes me mad to know that you
don’t want to be loyal to me.  You will break the family apart.  I know about
separation in my family.  It hurted me a lot and it’s a sad feeling and I don’t
want to do that to our baby husky (puts head down).

CHILLFIVE

Look at me. I know this is hard for you and I love you.  But you have to
understand I’m not ready.  And, yes, I will be here for my son husky and
take him to school and pick him up.  That’s my responsibility
as  a father. And my family doesn’t even want me to move in with you.  So
you think they will allow me to marry you?  An’ they don’t even know I’m
having a baby husky.  But, like I said, I’m willing to be here for him.

EMERALD

Wow, Dude, you just hurted me a lot.  Do you know how that feels deep
inside?  I feel like I have a hole in my heart an’ you need to fill it.

CHILLFIVE

This is a hard situation and I feel rejected because I feel you can’t respect the fact that I’m not ready.  An’ you wastin’ your time and wastin’ your breath.

EMERALD

So that’s how you feel?  I got you, Boo, I got you.

CHILLFIVE

So, wha’s that supposed to mean?

EMERALD

You want to know what it means?

CHILLFIVE

Yeah yeah!

EMERALD

It means that if we not going to get married, I will avoid you.  First things
first, if you’re hungry, don’t tell me.  You will write a list what you want to
eat.  If you need to use the bathroom, knock twice and I’ll know it’s you.

CHILLFIVE

No no!  I don’t think that’s a good idea, cuz if you will avoid me, that will
be an excuse to keep me away from my son.

EMERALD

So you do care – I was thinking, you remember when we first met?

CHILLFIVE

Yeah, I do.

EMERALD

Well, that’s how I want it to be with our son and I want us to get married so
we can be a happy family.

CHILLFIVE

You know what, it’s not what my parents think, it’s what I feel.  And I feel
that we can work something out an’ come up with a plan to get married.  An’ I’m doing this for you an’ my son.

EMERALD

Ok.  Babe, I was not trying to make it seem like I’m pressuring you.  I just
wanted to work something out, so it can eventually happen.  And it will at
least be good if you can tell your family you’re having a baby husky.

CHILLFIVE

Thanks, Babe, I will tell them first thing tomorrow.  An’ if it would be OK
with  you, sometime I will go out and hang out with my husky friends.  An’
I know for when I get married, I can’t play.

EMERALD

I’m not trying to hold you from your freedom.  You can have a lil fun, longs
you come back to me and don’t cheat on me.  I feel that you would be a
good father.  (They kiss.)
