The 2023 San Francisco Reentry Conference, hosted by Success Centers, Goodwill and the San Francisco Archdiocese, welcomed over 800 attendees! While most of us are just waking up, Carlos is already at the Education, Employment & Training Center (EETC) at 6:30 a.m. preparing for the daily classroom activities.
He collects classic 70’s rock vinyl records (Black Sabbath, Led Zeplyn, Judas Priest to name his favorites) and although he plays the electric guitar and drums, he considers himself a bass guitarist. Carlos has been married for 18 years and is the proud dog parent to 2 black Labrador Retrievers (Rolando and Gordo).

As a joint initiative between the Mayor’s Office of Housing and Community Development and the Western Addition Community Stabilization Fund, this grant program is aimed at creating opportunities for individuals living, working, and participating in everyday life in the Western Addition. The objective is to create projects that engage the community in the goals of Community Empowerment and Advocacy, Community Cohesion and Community Building, History and Heritage, and Resident Stability. Selected projects will receive grants between $1,000 and $5,000 to cover project-related expenses including translation, hiring of artists, landscapers, and other professionals that can assist in the implementation of a project. Funding for projects will be made available based on each project’s timeline and needs.
Lucina initially applied for a Career Advisor position with Success Centers, however her extensive teaching skillset spoke for itself. She was hired in March 2021, as a school counselor at the Early Morning Study Academy (EMSA) where she continues to spread her learned knowledge on radical compassion to empathize and encourage our youth to educate themselves as much and as well as possible!
Reba participates with the Success Centers Communication Team to help create consistent branding and messaging and has hit the ground running in a new position as a Data Evaluations Specialist with our Career Center where she continues to contribute toward individual, team and organizational excellence. Congratulations Reba!
Dawood started with Success Centers during the merger with Imagine Bus Project in 2018. Since then, his creativity and expertise have helped him to create and teach the Success Centers coding course (Code on Point) and Arts Programs, catapulting both into greater prominence.
